    1. Calling ALL Pruitt's.....Please read
    2. Hi All, First off I'd like to introduce myself to ya'll. I'm Donna's (the list owners cousin) Pam. I'm NOT a Pruitt, but while Donna is out of commission with her broken leg, I'm your list maintenance person. Please keep my e-mail address handy, I get over 600 e-mails a day folks between work and genealogy lists, so if you have a problem and need help, please put "Pruitt list help" or something VERY similar so I don't delete your e-mail. I'm very fast with the delete key, so if it's not something that flags my attention it usually goes into the trash bin. Happy to help any of you any way I can. Kindest Regards, Pamela [email protected] (Donna's not so bright cousin <G>) ==== PRUITT Mailing List ==== Is the Pruitt list of any help to you? Have you made any connections? 1. update, y'all, and a request for help.
    2. Donna Beard
    3. hi, everybody (and jeffrey, please don't gripe about not getting a letter of your own). i fell monday night leaving work and broke my leg. spent a couple of days at raleigh community hospital and had some pins put in to realign the bones and a torn ligament. i've got a temporary cast until dec. 4. then the surgeon will take out the stitches and put on a real cast. that stays on for 3 to 6 weeks, and during all that time i can't put any weight at all on my right leg. i have a walker, crutches, and a wheelchair, but i'm not very mobile. after the real cast comes off, the doctor will remove one pin in the ligament and put me in a removable cast. i still won't be quite as mobile as i'm used to, and i won't be able to drive a car again for a while. they tell me i can't drive again safely until after the 2 months in the removable cast is over and i've had several weeks of physical therapy. For those of you on my Cupp and Pruitt genealogy lists, I need to ask that someone step forward and take over list management. I won't be able to get to my computer often enough to manage the bounces and such. I also ask that the volunteers get in touch with Karen Isaacson or Brian Leverich at Rootsweb directly, because I don't expect to get back to my computer for 3 or 4 days. Pam, could you help coordinate the switching of the lists with whoever volunteers and Brian and/or Karen as needed? Okay, gang, I'm off to slide down the stairs on my butt, have some breakfast, read the comics, then snooze the morning away in Phil's recliner. for those of you who need the phone number, it's (919) 212-0962 i'm up and moving by 6 am - i have to give myself injections of anti-coagulants every 12 hours. and while rosie and oprah are a lot of fun to watch, i'd appreciate hearing a friendly voice every now and then. take care, y'all. i'll try to post updates every now and then on my web page instead of sending bulk email. the page is at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/3224 Donna ==== PRUITT Mailing List ==== REMEMBER! 1. Re: Pruett/Pruitt, Elisha
    2. I've been looking back over old some of the posts here. I'm wondering if the Elisha mentioned here (b. 1819 or 1821, 5th child of Elisha & Esther) might be my 3g-grandfather. My Pruitts were Quakers from Indiana. I have that Elisha & Mary (Stater) Pruitt had a son, George Pruitt, born 30 August 1841 in Indianapolis. Are you still on here Trisha? I hope no one is too upset by it. It is my other branch of the family(so Pruitts did eventually marry into this family. Again my humble apology, I just learned how to cut and paste stuff in e-mail. Some of its information is in contradiction to stuff I've found on WFT. Who should I presume is correct, since I can't leave Japan to go check out the stuff? So far what I've done is put the Hagan version as primary, and then list the WFT stuff as "also went by", unless it is a date thing, where I have always gone with the more specific date. I'm looking for a copy of Bugger Saga, if anyone has it. That should only be about 15 years old, laugh. 2. Hi, Kathleen, My documented Pruitts start with Reuben Pruitt, b. 1796 Wythe Co., VA. He married Nancy Vandike in Tazewell Co., VA 30 Oct 1817. Via a lot of evidence, (but no firm documentation), it is very likely that Reuben's father was John Pruett, Rev. War vet (S30665), who served from Montgomery Co., VA, received pension in Tazewell Co. He married Sarah (Somebody) and probably had the following children: Henry, b. 1780, Montgomery Co. (m. Martha Milam in Tazewell Co. abt 1805) John Jr, b. abt 1782, Montgomery (m. Polly McBroom in Tazewell Co. in 1803) Benjamin, b. abt 1785 (m. Mary Maloney in Tazewell Co in 1806) Joseph, b. abt 1787 (m. Susannah Clevinger in Tazewell Co. in 1814) Reuben, b. abt 1796 (m. Nancy Vandike in Tazewell in 1817) Sarah (Sally), b. abt 1798 (m Henry Stump in Tazewell, 1818) Moses, b. abt 1800 (m. Jane Wingo in Tazewell in 1829) Supposedly, John Sr.left with his daughter and may have died in Morgan Co., KY after 1840, but before 1850. John Sr. is supposedly the son of Henry Prewitt/Pruett and Lorene/Louranet/Loorannet (?). There is supposedly a will in Montgomery Co., VA that was read in court, but not recorded in Dec of 1778 for Henry. An abstract states Henry Pruit's wife, Lorene; sons and daughters John, Joseph, Merryan, Betsy and Patsy, dau Tishy now wife of Alex Page. Son Joseph to be bound out to trade. Will dated July 7, 1778. My Pruitts stayed in Virginia, then went to Ky, ending up in Greenup Co. Any relation to your Pruitts? I have not linked mine back as far, and hope you might have some earlier connections. It seems a little difficult to sort out the early Pruitts in VA.
