Posted on: Pruitt Queries Board URL: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Pruitt?read=116 Surname: Archibald Pruitt ------------------------- I have run into a brick wall (as many others have ) concerning my ggrandfather Archibald Pruitt. He died at Wartrace, Tennessee and I know where his grave is located. However, Nothing can be found as to whether he was borned in Tenn. or not. There is an unverified story that he was one of orphan twins who came to America at age 8 or there abouts. According to the story the boys were split up and one went to Oregon. The other could have been Archibald but that has not been verified. The boys were supposed to have come from Dublin Ireland. I would love any information about Bedford County Tennessee Pruitts anyone might have and especially information on Archibald. Help !!!

    2. I am searching for information on the ancestors of James Ollie Pruitt, born 1840 possible in Stokes Co. North Carolina. He was married to Nancy Fry born bet. 1820-1843. She was the daughter of Benjamin Fry, born 1789 and Frances Mchone, born 1791. Her grandparents were John Fry and Nancy Collins. James Ollie Pruitt and Nancy Fry had a son named Benjamin Franklin Pruitt born 1862 in Stokes Co. NC and died April 28, 1934. He was married to Sarah Wilma Throckmorton born 1863 in Stokes Co. NC. They had a son named Ollie Pruitt born 1889 in the same county. He married Lilia Virginia Estelle Spears born in Elkins, NC. They had a son named Clyde Cleo Pruitt, born May 6, 1920 and died May 1995. I am also looking for info that I found on the internet about a month ago, that told about the Pruitts and Fains that fought against Cornwalis. They fought so hard and defeated the British that it was pivotal in Cornwalis' decision to surrender. I can't remember where I saw it. I would appreciate any info on these people Desiree Hurst okboogle@juno.com

    3. We see lots of Pruitt, etc. surnames posted and lots of coincidences occur. But given name Cleo is a rare coincidence indeed. Unfortunately, the state and date of this Cleo cannot be the same as mine. In case this name combination comes out again, I'll post what I know and hope it can help someone. My Pruitt's came from Virginia to Kentucky 1800's and Texas and Oklahoma in the 1900's In Oklahoma was born my mother, her sister and two brothers between 1908 and 1916. Mom was Velma Gladys, her sister was Mollie and brothers were Cornelius and Cleo. 3. Posted on: Pruitt Queries Board URL: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Pruitt?read=113 Surname: Pruitt, Ashley, Owens, Hill, Key ------------------------- Thank you for this information, I have found this and think Eli C Pruitt is my Cason Calep Pruitt, Only a guess thou.., The reason I belive it may be him is the age is right and Casons son Edward named his first born Eli. If they are not father and son they must be some relation.. they always lived near each other and they carry the same names. Dose anyone know what happened to Jonathon and Polly Pruitt? There was another Edward older than Casons son who is said to be Jonathon and Pollys son too.
