    1. Re: [PRUITT-L] Fw: Charges for e-mail
    2. Hi folks, The bill before Congress to chare for email use is a hoax. This thing has gone around 3-4 times over the last three years. I just did a search on Bill#602p and I discovered the following: "Don't get the idea that only those who believe in fairy tales can fall prey to the spammers' tricks. One widespread hoax that I suspect was started by a spammer was a message that warned of "Bill 602p," an alleged attempt by the U.S. Postal Service to get Congress to impose a 5-cent "alternative postage fee" on every e-mail delivered. Given all the proposals that have been made for the government to regulate and/or tax the Internet, I wondered if it might be true the first time I saw it, but there is no 602p. Best wishers, -Wayne (Mesquite, Tx.)

    3. There is no bill 602P. Bills do not get letters after them (I don't think). House bill 602 is as follows: To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to require the Attorney General to provide for special consideration concerning the English language requirement with respect to the naturalization... (Introduced in the House) HR 602 IH Senate bill 602 is the. Crime Control Act of 1997

    3. I don't know how this would be enforced. Email works between SMTP clients. My SMTP agent (or my ISPs SMTP agent) connects directly to your SMTP agent ) or your ISP's SMTP agent) and packets are sent. There is no middle man. Unless your ISP was tasked with tracking and collecting this charge, there would be no way for big brother to get in the middle. This is why all these emails you see about if you email a lot of people you can earn a sum of money are hoaxes. No one, other that the SMTP agent on each side of the transfer, knows that the email was sent. -----Original Message----- From: Linda Pitts [mailto:lindapitts@cafes.net] Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2000 8:11 PM To: PRUITT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PRUITT-L] Fw: Charges for e-mail > Dear Group, I have just received this message regarding proposed bill for > e-mail charges. John Moore (This information is from "Clark County, Arkansas" A Genealogical Source Book Vol. 2 compiled by Pauline Williams Wright and Barbara McDow Caffee Gateway Press 1994 Mary Ann Mahala Pruitt was my g. g. grandmother through her son, Robert Beggs who married Nancy Turner. All I know about Mary Ann is what is shown in the census records. She was born in Tenn. ca 1831. She married Isaac D. Beggs in Clark Co. AR. Jan. 25, 1849. The marriage license states that he was living in Upshur Co., TX and they are on the 1850 Census in Upshur Co., TX. with 1 child Wm N. (maybe for Nelson) b. ca 1849/50. The Beggs family moved back to AR by 1860. Isaac Dudley Beggs d. 1863 - 1865 Prob. during the Civil War. He enlisted in Clark Co. AR. Probate record of Clark Co., listed children of Mary and Isaac. All were listed except Wm. N. Hiram Pruitt paid outstanding tax on property. I would really like to know the parents of Mary Ann (Nelson) Pruitt, when she died, where she is buried, if her grave is marked, etc. I would truly appreciate any help that you could give me. I have hit a brick wall as far as finding parents or other information. Thanks in advance Fran

Using this you are able to type in the address and it will open it at the sight you want. Very neat, less hassle to sort through a maze. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marie Kelly Privitt" <mkellyprivitt@ArkansasUSA.com> To: <PRUITT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 07, 2000 2:56 PM Subject: Re: [PRUITT-L] website: anybirthdate.com > I would like to check out this site and make sure my name and birthrate is > not listed but i can't get into the site.
