I was told by the researcher that the Tome 2 was missing from Ponta do Pargo and therefore we could not go any further back in time. I was also told and I find this hard to believe that the First Lopes on the Island and the city of Funchal is not related to Andres? One wonders how a family settles and then moves around the island and is not related to what is the original settler of Madeira? I have a web page for those who would like to peruse my research to date and possibly give me some direction as to where to look next. I cannot speak Portuguese nor can I read it (I know it is my fault-thank you) but maybe with some direction or hints as to who may help I can make the last connection on Madeira.
