Basically, as I am going to be in Madeira in August I offered to get the 1-3 first copies of the certificates. The offer is extended to you.  I have no doubt that you are related. Note that one of them was 39 in 1912. Check passport link. I asked Avelino to send you my reply. As Miguel  from his Alentejo office would say, we are all related in Madeira, so keeping this on-list is always a good idea because someone else will always gives us a new idea or suggestion.  The Fernandes Pombo from Ponta do Pargo have kept that double going for at least 200 years. There is something to it. Ponta do Pargo is in the far corner of Madeira. It was pretty isolated in the old days, and even today it is still a bit out of the way and not easy to get to. So, it is not much of a guess to say that all Fernandes Pombo from there and also Faja da Ovelha (nearby) are related.  Anyway, I mentioned to Avelino, that one of my late father's friends was a Fernandes Pombo from Ponta do Pargo. So I would be most pleased to help in any way. He is still alive, in his 70's and living in Funchal. Unfortunately, only one of his 3 sons survived. The other 2 died of M.S. complications. That is just a detail. But I do have an interest in this family. I always wondered where they got the name Pombo. They may be as follows: Manuel Fernandes Pombo married Joana Mendes da Encarnação (did she change her name to Barbosa?) in 1904. This is the only Manuel Fernandes Pombo married to a Joana in Ponta do Pargo and for that matter in the whole island. António Fernandes Pombo married Maria Clara de Jesus in 1910. Same age? Are they twins? Cousins? If these seem to be the people you are searching, you should request a copy of the marriage document. It will contain the parents. Good luck.
