Hi Mary (2nd attempt) There isn't any DAMIAO ELEUTERIO PESTANA in the on-line phone book (www.118.pt). There only are about 100 PESTANA in the Lisbon phone book, but none in the PRAÇA DA ILHA DO FAIAL (Pc I Faial, for short). L-1 could stand for Lisboa-1 (there were no Post Code numbers in the 60's like nowadays). Nowadays it is: 1000-168 LISBOA. I think the phone numbers in Lisbon had SIX figures and not five, in the 60's. Could 5.03.67 be a DATE? The person named was a cousin of my late father. My question is if someone out there can make sense of the address and/or telephone number. I had thought Damiao stayed on Madeira but the note on this card indicates he was in Lisbon. Damiao Eleuterio Pestana 3.3 Pc 1 Faial L-1 (or 6-1) 5.03.67 It is doubtful Damiao is still alive, though not impossible. If he is, he would probably be 90+ years old. I am always hopeful as some years back I did find another cousin who was 89. We visited and corresponded for 2 more years until she passed away at 91.
