Marcia, Your great-grandparentes *obviously* anglicized their portuguese names. Marsial could originally be MARÇAL (I hope you can read «ç». it's a «c» with a «,» i.e. M a r c, a l). I have no doubt it should be CALDEIRA. Calderia doesn't exist in Portuguese. I keep what I told you before. You must find down there, in S.A., where they were from. Other wise, it's almost impossible to know where they came from (they could come from almost any where in the World: from Goa-India, from Macau-China, from the Madeira islands, from Cape Verde, from mainland Portugal, etc.).
