Hi MB! If Paula is a daughter of Manuel da Silva and Inácia das Neves (which I already have as ancestors by way of their other son André da Silva Romão), that would make her a Baião! If you checked Manuel da Silva marriage record, you probably saw the note on the margin that gives their grand fathers. These Baiões are Porto Santo's nobility, which link to the Vasconcelos, Lomelinos, Teixeiras, Carvalhos, Calaças, Lobos, Drummonds, Ferreiras, Castros, Canhas, Nettos, etc. First member of that family is Fernando de Baião, born about 1470 on Porto Santo, who very probably descend from the well known Portugal's house of the Baiões. I have done a little "engineering" in order to fix those lines, who were clearly wrong on the nobiliaries, but I have good reasons to believe they are more correct now. I'll check those lines and post that ancestry soon, so we can discuss it if you want. BTW, how do you found out that Paula was a daughter of that couple?
