Greetings! On 14 Dec 2005, the Madeira DNA Project was established to coordinate DNA results for participants of Madeiran heritage. The new website can be viewed at: http://www.ourfamilyorigins.com/madeira/dna.htm José Fernandes, a native Madeiran, provided the beautiful photos of Madeira. If you've already tested with Family Tree DNA or thru National Geographic Genographic Project (or any other testing firm), you're welcome to add your results to the project. New participants are always welcome to join too! A new Google Earth mapping feature was added in January by Family Tree DNA to view participants' ancestral locations: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/madeira Click "Satellite" and then the '+' and zoom in four times for a view of Madeira. Then click on each of the red dots. The site also contains Madeiran genealogical and historical links. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
