    1. [PT-MADEIRA] Drumond family
    2. Hi Margaret..... Very interesting story really!!! Funny enough this Vital Escorcio Drumond (b.1686) from Sao Vicente (my 11 Great-grandfather) married in 1706 with Maria Teixeira de Andrade andtheir son is Francisco TELO de Figueiro (b. 1714) whom married Ana Rosa de Jesus in 1737 were the parents of Manuel TELO de Meneses (B.1747) that married Maria de Ponte Pereira (from the Pereira Brasao family). They were the parents of Manuel Telo de Meneses (b.1772) that married in 1796 with Ana Ursula Sao Jose (Ferreira de Abreu family from Calheta). They had Francisco Telo de Meneses (b.1796) married in 1820 Ana Maria Rosa de Jesus (Franca Vasconcelos family...also from Sao Vicente) parents of Manuel Telo Junior (b.1826) that married in 1849 Francisca Perpetua da Encarnacao (Castro teixeira family from Seixal...by now my family moved from Sao Vicente to Seixal). They were the parents of Manuel Teles de Castro that married in 1883 Maria Silvestre da Conceicao and they were the parents of my Great-grandfather Manuel Teles Junior born in 1885 that emigrated to Brazil at 5 months old with his parents. 3. `Leandro: Here in Oakland, Ca., there were many Telo, Telles, Drumonds, Nobrega, de Nobregas and more. They were our neighbors. All from Madeira. Sao Vicente, Machico, Santa Ana, Porto Santo, Camacha, however they have all passed away. Many went to Hawaii and on to California and Oakland and attended the same church. We had a large Portuguese community here and attended many of the same festas together. Madeira picnics, and they formed their own lodge. They were a very happy group and their children met and married and so it is an extended group of families. The Madeira lodge is still active however not as large as it once was. The elders are gone and the young people donot come from Madeira to perpetua the lodge. Their number is dwindling however there is one lady who is quite active and is 94. They came here and were very actilve in this area. We now have a Portuguese mayor in San Leandro and we are very happy with the work that he has done. My grandmother in Campanario was a d'Abreu Faria however I didnot see a connection in your e-mail. Difficult to trace.
