    3. As far as I am aware only records up to 1911 have been made public. Anything after that you have to either go the the vital records office or to the cemetery. Luis Beal I am researching a young ancestor who died in about 1929 in Madeira (Funchal I believe). I do not know the child's name...in fact I know nothing else other than the child was a little boy. I do have information about his parents. The father was António Barros da Silva born in about 1892 in Madeira and voyaged to Massachusetts, U.S.A. where he met Senhorinha de Lima (native of Graciosa), my father's first cousin . They were married 4 November 1916 and at some point returned to live on Madeira where their child was born in about 1929. After he died at about 6 months of age, António and Senhorinha decided to return to Massachusetts to live. Further tragedy occurred in about 1934 when António and Senhorinha's daughter died at birth. They didn't have any other children. I feel a burden to record and preserve information about these children and would appreciate any information and help anyone can provide to help me. 3. Maybe someone can shed some light on how long a grave site/plot is kept in Madeira. I have heard that sites/plots are only kept for 7 years. If that's true what then happens with the remains in that site/plot?
