Hello Mary, It's a very ancient town, from the time of the Romans (AD) and before it was a celtic town, and before that a paleolithic settlement. It was there that was born Nun'Álvares Pereira, our national hero, recently sanctified by Pope Benedictus. It's on the central region of Portugal, on the Castelo Branco area.
