Thomas good afternoon, i hope your holidays were wonderful. All these months later im still stumped on Feliciano Gomes Fernandes death. I know he was born in Madeira in1871, and died in the bay area in 1919. I think it was in santa clara. I went to vital search like you said, but that Gomes is not him. I believe that this is your Feliciana Gomes who died 08/16/1917 and not 1920 like you stated.  This might be why you could not find a certificate.  At least I think this is her.
