Most probably all the Gomes Jardim are related and descend from the first one to use that combination of surnames. So the first one . the genearc of this family.  was Manuel Gomes Jardim. married around 162... to Ana Fernandes, from São Roque, His most famous descendant was Miguel Gomes Jardim a rich landowner who had servants and slaves, and instituted a "morgadio". The Gomes Jardim are related to several other well-known Madeiran families like (I quote Clode) Veríismos, Rodrigues de Souto, Rodrigues Lourenços, Almeidas, Matos Coutinhos, Marciaias, Valdavessos and Ornelas Gamboa. I am descended from the first one. And also from Francisco Gomes Jardim m. (Calheta, around 168...) with Beatriz Pereira. he most probably is connected to the first. But there are no records from Calheta in that period.
