Anne has contributed various articles to numerous genealogical sites and also has her own site/blog at http://southafricanresearcher.blogspot.com/2010/04/early-portuguese-settlers -in-south.html The name Martins is listed on the site as one of the early Madeiran settlers. I'm not sure of Greg's dates, perhaps it predates his ancestors, but worth a look.
