    3. Hi Group, I've been exchanging emails with an individual that is in the process of researching his Madeira ancestry...He soon will be joining our list group, but I'd like to get a head start by sharing our email exchange with "you all," in hopes that you can help... His name is Greg Martino (Martinho)... I have also CC: Zelia Mullins soliciting her help... Thank You! Would I be able to get a copy of their marriage certificate with out their date of births? My paternal line is: Gregory Martino (Martinho) which is me ----> Manuel Martino (Martinho) my father --->Antonio Martihno my paternal Grandfather who may have been born 1901 -1906 in the Estreito Calheta, Madeira. I think my dad has the 1901 birth date wrong, I went into the Madeira archives (see attached) and managed to find a Manuel Gomes Martinho who was married to Gregoria Candide de Andrade in 1901 in The Sao Pedro chapel. Not sure if this is my paternal great grandfather, as somewhere (according to my father)in our family we have the Gomes surname as well and that would more or less tie up with the 1906 birth date, as my grandfather had two older sisters that were born before him (between 1901 and 1906). You will see there are another three Martinho's that got married between 1901 and 1907, but 1907 would suggest that my grandfather was born out of wedlock if he was born in 1906! Happy hunting. Not sure of his date of birth but my dad seems to think it was around 1901, although they have another document indicating it was in 1906. I will try and get a bit more info. I know that there is a small piece of property in Estraita Calheta, which should still be registered in the family name, although nobody has shown any interest in it for a very long time. Thanks Greg
