Joao Rodrigues "Carrico," m. abt 1595 to Catarina Rodrigues they the parents of Francisco Rodrigues "Carrico," bapt June 1, 1602 Estreito da Calheta. Francisco married Maria de Sa'(daughter of Manuel Serrao and Angela de Sa')... The above noted Francisco Rodrigues "Carrico," (m. Estreito da Calheta 1629 Noe 26 to Maria De Sa' they the parents of Isabel Serra' who married Estreito da Calheta 1662 May 29 to Antonio Rodrigues... from this couple the surname of Rodrigues de Sa' descends for 5 generations... Dear Prima Pat, Good try, but, it isn't a shortened version. Furthermore the "de" as in de Sá is never present with Silva or Serrão. There are no "de Silvas". Just "da Silva". Neither "de Serrão", Just Serrão. So she was certainly a " de Sá".
