Thank for the offer. I am doing research for the Joao Pereira Camacho of Santa Antonio Funchal, I don't have much, but my grandfather Jose Pereira Camacho was born on 09/12/1898 his parents are Joao Pereira Camacho and Antonia de Freitas Basenga, his grandparents are Joao Pereira Camacho & Francisca de Freitas and Manuel Gomes Basenga and Maria de Freitas. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let me know Thanks Bob Camacho Researching the islands of Terceira for da Costa, and Evangelho, Graciousa for Reis, and Madeira for Camacho
Pat, I just read your message below . I'm looking for several relatives from Maderia. I would appreciate any search for my family members. If list members will post the names of individuals that they are researching from Madeira, I can check what I have in my computer from the many pedigree charts that Sr. Luis de Sousa Mello, the retired Director of the Madeira Archives prepared for me. Willing to share whatever I have. Family: Francisco Silva brn. abt. 1850 mar. Marie Nunes Children: Antone brn in Oakland, Ca. 1892, but don't know if brother Joseph & sister Theresa were born in Maderia. No know middle initials. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Val

Pat, Where/how did you get access to the census? Are you paying for the access? My branch of the Pita/Pittas lived on Caroline st and Lakeview Ave. Lou "For those who have fought for it....Freedom has a taste the protected will never know" " Without the Brave there would be no land of the Free" A new Recruit asked an old Warrior, "What is War like?" Dear Linda: As per your offer and at your convenience: Could you look up Pedro Fernandes and Ana da Silva from Arco de Calheta 1627- 1029- 40? They should be my 8great grandparents according to record of marriage of Pedro Fernandes who married Isabel Henriques 1648 in Machico. Thank you Mary da Silva Frost
Lou, Found one family on Lakeview Ave. Lowell, MA on the 1930 census Pitta, Joseph; wife Mary; children: Joseph; Manuel; Delinda; Rose and George. Also at the same address: Pitta, John Head of household; wife Isabella; John; Delphina; Humbert; Cecile; Gabrile(son) Mary. If this looks like your family... I'll send you a copy of this census... Mary Pitta, wife of Joseph her place of birth is listed as Brazil. Pat Lou Abreu <labreu@cablespeed.com> wrote: Pat, Where/how did you get access to the census? Are you paying for the access? Lou, Yes, it's the paid access feature of ancestry.com. Give me names/towns/dates/ etc. and I'll look it up for you. The USA Fed. Census only goes through 1930..the 1890 census was destroyed by fire, but there is a fragmented portion of the census, very limited.
