John Cameron Stewart was the son of Alexander Stewart and Susan Cameron born in 1831 in Dollar,Clackmannanshire, Scotland. He attended United College and St. Mary's College at St. Andrew's until 1861. He was ordained in 1869 and became the minister of St. Bernard's Parish in Glasgow until his death in 1895. His listing in the Fasti states he held the degree LLD from the U.S. He probably obtained this degree between 1861 and 1869. Does anyone have any suggestions or guesses about where he might have obtained his degree? He married Elizabeth Lawson McGregor in 1869 in Scotland. His older brother Peter Stewart was also a minister in the Church of Scotland in Glasgow. Regards, Virginia
