    3. Given that the source is the Mitchell Library it is almost certainly the New Edition of Fasti. The reason why I ask is that if you can get hold of the Hew Scott edition, it is much more entertaining and tactually often tells us more about the people than the new edition - by 1915 or whenever there was a tendency to censor the information and cut it down. (It was Harry Miller the minister of Iona who pointed thing out to me a long time ago.) The problem is that the only copy of this book which came out between 1866 and 1871 is very rare, and the only copy that I have access to is in Edinburgh University Library (Strangely enough not in the New College Library which has only the 1915 et seq edition). Don't hold your breath but I'll put the source of Stewart's LLB on my to do list the next time I'm at the main library. 3. We have got two issues, let's deal with the easy one first. The KEIM family. I've never heard the name in Scotland and in the time of Penn (1677) there were not that many Quakers in Scotland, and they were tremendously well recorded and researched. I would also look at England. Again Quaker resources are. I believe very good, and you should have little trouble, once you make contact with a Quaker list of getting your KIME tree together. HUTCHISONS are going to be much more difficult. The question has to be how early 1700s. Could they have been - you wish - covenanters, and therefore transported. You need to go on a Scottish List for this kind of stuff. I don't know much about it, but certainly at various times people were transported from Scotland, but it was by the English Government, (1650s or at least by order of the King. Again you have to find out about them. You are a bit vague in your wording of "Presbyterian". You have to remember that the Presbyterians have for a long time happened in a number of flavours. Remember that there are few essential Theological differences between Presbyterians. The Cumberland ones differed from the orthodox really over the question of Ministerial education (in the context of Revival). This led onto other differences, but it was originally a social problem. Again, if he was early in the Cumberland Presbyterians you need to look there for information. Work along the line that your Hutchison was transported (though not to VA, but made his way there.) I'd be looking for a transported Hutchison in a Covenanting (killing times) context. Hope that this helps Edward -----Original Message----- From: presbyterian-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:presbyterian-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Linda Rogers Sent: Friday, March 09, 2007 9:14 PM To: presbyterian@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PRESBYTERIAN] Info. from new list admin I don't know what date they arrived here ie VA.But one family ,HUTCHISONS,seem to be in VA in the early 1700's.In 1810 a family member ,JOHN HUTCHISON,and his family left for TN. and they didn't have a PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH to worship at and eventually they became "CUMBERLAND PRESBYTERIANS". 1. [PRESBYTERIAN] Glencoe Interests
    2. Gillian
    3. My name is Gillian Johnston, and I have just joined the list. I am trying to find out more about the Glencoe area of Argyll, Scotland. My Rankin and Campbell forebears came from there - Ann Rankin was born 20 Dec 1817 at Carnoch, Glencoe, but I have been unable to find any records of her birth on Scotlands People or elsewhere. They were strict Presbyterians, and she also married Donald Campbell, a Presbyterian, in 1835 in Glasgow. They migrated to Australia in 1854 with their children. Any information on the Church and its records in that period would be appreciated, best wishes, Gillian South Australia
