This one is a little harder - I think that he is a son of the Everette Pennington who was a son of Harvey Pennington and Martha Greer. Harvey was a son of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth Henson, grandson of Levi Pennington and Elizabeth, and great grandson of Micajah Pennington and Rachel Jones. Mr. Wayne Pennington, age 77, of Lansing, died Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2003 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 22, 2003 at 12:00 pm at Suger Grove Baptist Church by Rev. J.B. Hamm and Rev. Earl Woods. Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12:00 pm, on Sunday, June 22, 2003, one hour prior to the funeral service. Mr. Pennington was born in Ashe County on Monday, April 26, 1926 to Roy Everette Pennington and Martha Greer Pennington. He worked as a Rite-Away Cleaner for an Electric Company. He is survived by his wife, Aulsie Eldreth Pennington, of the home; a son, Thomas Pennington, of Lansing; two daughters, Brenda Osborne of Creston and Kristine Greer, of Lansing; a brother, John Henry Pennington, of West Jefferson; a sister, Ruth Moore, of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
