Hi Maxine and others, The following is Anderson related information -- if I'm off topic here please let me know and I will answer privately on any other questions concerning Anderson. Nancy Anderson's relationship to Elizabeth Anderson is the six million dollar question for Anderson researchers. Nancy Anderson, wife of Jesse Roberts, is thought to be the sister of Swimpfield Anderson of Hawkins County TN. She and Jesse named a son Swimpfield Roberts. Moses Anderson of Wayne County KY is thought to be the brother of Swimpfield Anderson of Hawkins County TN. He named a son Swimpfield Anderson. We know that Swimpfield Anderson of Hawkins County, TN is tied in with the Anderson's of Grayson County VA because he married Sarah Perkins Anderson after the death of Stephen Anderson and had dealings with Anderson's from that area. Sarah and Stephen Anderson were Jene's 3rd great grandparents. We also know from DNA results that a Anderson researcher by the name of Roger Wayne Anderson and my husband are related. According to the DNA results they are 1 Genetic Distance apart. According the FTDNA this is the explanation of 1 GD, " You share the same surname (or a variant) with another male and you mismatch by only one 'point' on only one marker. For most closely related or same surnamed individuals, the mismatch markers are either DYS 439 or DYS 385 A, 385 B and 389-1. Mismatch only in one and you are certain." The DYS # that Jene and Roger off is 385B. So we know that Roger and Jene are related we just have to prove by a paper trial how they're related. If Jesse Roberts is the son of Cornelius Roberts and Mary Benton we have another connection to the Anderson's which really is detailed to explain. I know this doesn't answer your question straight-forward but there is circumstantial evidence indicating possibly a relationship between Nancy Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson, wife of Samuel Pennington. We just don't know what the relationship was at this point. I hope that I haven't confused you in trying to explain this - it gets confusing to me sometimes when I'm trying to figure things out. If you want to check out the Anderson DNA Project here is the website address - http://www.geocities.com/herb194/ The DNA Group 6 is the one you would be interested in checking out. I am a member of group 7 but love to read all the information sent in by our PRA families. I know what you mean by a "paper mess". I can never find anything at the time I need it. I am a descendant of Nancy Anderson and Jesse Roberts. Could this Nancy be related to Elizabeth Anderson? Does anyone know? I know nothing about the Andersons.
