Dear Mandy I think that you are on the right track going to the Newark Historical Society. I spent a day there about 10 years ago and found it to be a treasure trove of very old books and manuscripts. You just have to make a list and they let you look through everything. I know that you are supposed to work from the known to the unknown, but in this case we need to sort out all of the NJ Penningtons and find out which Ephriam goes with who. I think that the DNA shows that he is a very important ancestor to many of us and we need to concentrate on this area. I have a copy of the journal written during the rev war and it mentions many aunts and uncles, but I haven't been able to sort them out. Good luck to you.
