Beginning with the Fall 2004 lineup of titles, Family Tree Books will add instant name recognition to the trade's most respected line of genealogy titles being published. Formerly published under the Betterway Books imprint, which published books in several categories, Family Tree Books will be the exclusive imprint for F+W Publications' genealogy titles. Since beginning its genealogy publishing program in 1994, many of these titles have become essential reference sources, as well as introducing the hobby of researching family trees to, literally, millions of people. Some of the country's best-known genealogists have written for this line, including Emily Anne Croom, Maureen Taylor and Rhonda R. McClure. Certified Genealogist Sharon DeBartolo Carmack will still be the Executive Editor for Family Tree Books. "We've built our reputation for publishing high-quality instructional guidebooks because of the leading genealogists who write for us," says Carmack. "We will continue to publish the best genealogical guides available at the most affordable prices." F+W Publications is also the publisher of Family Tree Magazine, the country's most popular family history magazine. Published bimonthly, the magazine has a circulation of 143,000. Adding the Family Tree name to the genealogy books brings the information full circle, as many of Family Tree Books' authors also contribute to the magazine. For the Fall 2004 season, four books are planned: Digitizing Your Family History by Rhonda R. McClure (August), The Family Tree Resource Book for Genealogists edited by Sharon DeBartolo Carmack (November), The Family Tree Problem Solver by Marsha Hoffman Rising (December) and Family History 101 by Marcia D. Yannizze Melnyk. Family Tree Books is an imprint of F+W Publications, a special interest publisher who targets hobbyists and enthusiasts in categories such as writing, fine art, genealogy, crafts, antiques, various collectibles, coins, stamps and the outdoors. ####
