A Boone-Pennington reunion will be held during the Monroe County, Kentucky Heritage Festivaal in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on May 7-8, 2004. Descendants of the early settlers, including the family of Richard Pennington and Hannah Boone, youngest sister of Daniel Boone who settled in the county in1798, are to be honored on Friday night at the Pioneer dinner. The events of Saturday at OLD MULKEY MEETINGHOUSE STATE HISTORIC PARK will be arts, crafts, genealogical swap, children's activities, and the reunion in the Meetinghouse from 3 to 5 pm. Period attire is encouraged. A family skit of a "mock" wedding of 1804, which celebrates the log building of the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse, now restored in the park, will be at 3 p.m. The young couple will represent the son of Hannah and Richard.
