Hi Donna, First, I have to tell you, Rowsey's name at first glance on the census looks like "Harvey". On the 1880 Census, pg. 211B in Union, Lincoln, WV. As follows: Rowsey (Harvey) Pennington 25yrs w/m Farmer born in VA parents b.VA - your guess at his birth was at least in the ballpark - he was born sometime in 1855 in VA. Sarah w/f wife 27yrs housewife born in VA, parents b. VA Alvin w/m son 2yrs born in WV Parents b. VA Stella w/f 2 months (Mar) born in WV. Parents b.VA On both sides of Rowsey ( Harvey) are Adkins families. As you continue to look for this fella, I would check both names to be on the safe side. I hope this helps you and anyone else.
