Dear All, Pretty sure this is just for family 8, but thanks to DNA, not really sure what family I am in (seems ironic, huh?) Anyway, just to let you know that Charles Pennington of Georgia (1923-1999) had a stepfather. His mother remarried after the father's untimely death. She married a man with the last name of Stokes and had a son named Allan Stokes. Though never very close, Charles acknowledged him as his half brother. Also, there is a cousin of Charles who is still alive and has Pennington blood. She lives in PA and her name is Penny Kirchner. Hi Liz, You did the right thing - using the mailing list to share your information. I think all of us can understand some frustration in not knowing for sure what PRA Family Group we belong. Family Groups 8, 9,19, 26 and 29 have so many similarities whether it is area, DNA, dates or common first names. You have a much better chance of finding a link to your family using the mailing list due to the multitude of subscribers doing Pennington research. One of the best PRA accomplishments completed this past year was the creation of the new Myfamily website. Because of this - we are able to search between the many family groups much more thoroughly and this will increase our chances in finding a common ancestor. Thanks for posting and sharing with us.
