Hi, As to the census records of Hampshire County, VA. Jacob is living with Abraham, his son in 1810 and in 1820, Abraham is living with Jacob. They moved to Highland County, Ohio about 1828. I have been on the Hampshire County list for many years. I know that Pennington is an old name in Hampshire County, VA for Wilber Kerns. I have a book that lists my Penningtons as belonging to Primitive Baptist Church. I have not connected other Penningtons in Hampshire County to Jacob or Abraham except they are father and son. These are my husband's relatives. I brought my family tree records to the Pennington Reunion in Portland, OR but no one could help. I am hoping as more people join we will find the answer to the mystery. I will send a genealogy report. Take care, Judy Minihan

Hello, I went to the library today and I found an Abraham Pennington in western Frederick Co. MD circa 1724: Monacacy and Catoctin: Some Early Settlers of Frederick and Carroll Counties, MD and Adams County PA/ C.E. Schildknecht, Editor pg. 53 "Near later Brunswick (or Berlin), Frederick Co., Abraham Pennington built a cabin and traded with the Indians. Upstream in the Potomac is Abraham's Falls or Rapids. Pennington hunted along Catoctin Creek which earlier was called Abraham's Creek. John VanMetre from the Hudson Valley came to the Monacacy area as a trader and is said to have accompanied the Delawares on one of their expeditions against the Catabwas. He had land surveyed a short distance southeast of later Frederick in 1724." pg. 62. Land Tracts - Catoctin Valley, South of Later Middletown (Frederick Co.) "Thomas Wilcoxon 1728, Coxon's Rest near later Brunswick (Berlin), earlier trader Abraham Pennington lived there." Mandy Colgan FG 20
