Pennington Family Reunion to be held Saturday, October 20th All descendants of Thaddeus Baily Pennington (b. 1862, d. 1928) are invited to join us at the Basketcase Restaurant, 228 South Oates in downtown Dothan, from 12:30 to 5:00 PM. Lunch, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be catered at a cost of $30 per person. T. B. was a farmer in the Madrid area and homesteaded about 400 acres. He is buried in Big Creek Methodist Church Cemetery where we believe his father was the minister. When Henrietta Jordan, his first wife, died in childbirth, he married her sister, Elzena. Children born to the first wife were Eula (Hasty) and Henry - to the second wife, Orada (Smith), Walter Curtis, Howard, Levada (Campbell), and Georgia (Womble). His third wife, Lizzie Day, died shortly after they married, but his last wife, Mary Jenkins, gave him five more children - Rudolph, Sarah Ferrell (Wells), Gerald, and twins, Lillian (Reid) and Lee. We need the present generation to help us finish our genealogy research. If you can attend, please bring copies of old photos, family bibles, or documents of interest.
