Patty: I did a quick check of our master database (known as the JFMF), and found several John Henry Pennington names listed. I did not find any listing for Carrie Stanley. Without more information, I can't make a match. Do you have any information for your great grandparents such as: 1. Dates of birth, marriage or death? 2. Location of birth, marriage or death? If you don't have exact dates, you can use "abt" for about or "CA" for circa. "CA" or "Circa" is a Latin term used to refer to the approximate year, meaning "about the year..." while "abt" is an abbreviation for "about" and is often used in genealogical materials to indicate an approximate date. For example, if I use the date abt. 1830 means this is approximately the time of the event. Many genealogy researchers use "abt" to represent a date that is + or - 5 years from the stated date. Another example is to give a date like CA 1830 which means, again, an approximate date. Many genealogy researchers use the "CA' to represent a date that is + or - 10 years from the stated date. To get a better idea of how to submit a query, go to --> http://www.penningtonresearch.org/resources/submitquery.htm . I hope this helps. Best of luck with your research. Thank you for such a quick response. I know minimal to nothing. On my grandmother's social security info she justs lists John Henry and mother Carrie Stanley. My grandmother's birth date is June 15, 1897. I found them in the Indiana 1900 Census but lose them after that!!! Nothing!!! Her mother died shortly after My grandmother, Opal Garnet Pennington was born. I have a picture of her taken in Swayzee, Indiana, Sims County. I have no date of the death of her parents so I can't find death certificate or place of burial of either parent. It took me 25 years to find the name of my grandmother's parents!!!! My mother did not know her mother or family so she had no info to give to me!! As you can see,.......its been a very frustrating situtaiton. I just received the names of my great-grandparents two weeks ago!!! I did find on the internet that Carrie's parents are William Arthur Stanley and Mary Eliza Dimik. There is some information but I don't know how to track it down. The cenus doesn't say when they died or where! I am assuming Carrie died in Grant County, Swayzee, Sims because my grandmother was born there....and she was only two or three years old when her mother Carrie died. Too much but too little....just enough to drive you crazy! I am hoping the PRA may be able to help me somehow. I have pictures that are supposedly John and Carrie. BUT...no names on back of pictures. Anyway...I rambled way to long. Sorry. Thanks so much for responding.
