Obit from http://www.boonefuneralhome.com Opal Pennington is the daughter of Thomas Clinton Pennington, granddaughter of David McDowell Pennington, great granddaughter of Isom Pennington, ggreat granddaughter of Lorenzo Dowell Pennington and gggreat granddaughter of Abraham Pennington & Margery Lewis (which means that she is in Group 30) Mrs. Opal Pennington Myers, age 68, of Warrenville, died Saturday morning, February 10, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at 8pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Call officiating. Graveside services will be on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 2pm at Clint Gilley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, two hours prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Myers was born in Ashe County on Sunday, February 12, 1939 to the late Thomas Pennington and Ester Jones Pennington. She worked at Southern Devices Mfg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William Myers. She is survived by a son, Clarence Myers, Jr., of Creston; her mother, Ester Pennington; a sister, Margaret Moretz, of West Jefferson; five brothers, Raymond Pennington and Spence Pennington, both of Warrensville, Carlos Pennington, of Yadkinville, Joe Pennington, of the home and Walter Pennington, of West Jefferson; three grandchildren, Beth Myers, Josh Myers and Jessica Myers; several nieces and nephews also survive.
