Harold was the s. of Ester Jane Pennington, granddaughter of Byram Bowman Pennington, great granddaughter of Elisha Pennington, ggreat granddaughter of Samuel Pennington and therefore Group 12. Harold Edward Griffits, age 70, of Lansing the Helton Community, died Tuesday, August 15 at his home. Funeral services were held Friday, August 17, 2006 at the Sturgills Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Interment followed in the Zion Cemetery. Mr. Griffits was born December 15, 1035 to Clarence Elmer and Ester Pennington Griffits. His passion in life was farming. He is survived by one step daughter, Fanny Thomas of Abingdon, VA; two brothers, Danny Griffits and Garry Griffits both of Lansing, NC; one sister, Maxine Hanks of Lansing, NC.
