Dear Melinda, You are so right about the parts of Ancestry.com that are files sent in by folks who rarely submit documentation for their "data". I do, however, accept the original census images as much as census via microfilm and with the usual reservations. I don't think it's a good idea to go by what the Ancestry data processors interpret of the sometimes hard to read handwriting or what the enumerators thought they heard. Again, I think the Ancestry images are as trustworthy and no more so, than microfilmed images. I am trying to clarify this because you are saying exactly what I have been saying for years and it is so good to hear it. I don't even bother to read the submitted files because unless they submit good documentation, it's pretty much just go-with clues to further research. Thanks for letting me go on about this. Barb T
