I wanted to explain something in case there was a misunderstanding. If you are a paying member of the PRA, then you are entitled to access to the JFMF and the MyFamily site. The two go together. You do not need to be a member of any of the sub groups of the PRA but a member of the group as a whole. We have 195 members of the PRA and 83 of you have signed up. If you have questions, please ask me. Write me privately at my email address of [email protected] and I will do what I can to help you. This is the time for you to examine the data that the PRA has collected over the years. It is an opportunity for you to correct mistakes, add information, or make connections. If you see mistakes, or think that the info needs to be added, contact your family group leader. If you are not sure who that is, go to the PRA webpage at www.penningresearch.org - if you do not have a family group leader contact Gene Pennington or myself. Perhaps you have info that we dont have, or have information might help someone else make a connection. That is what the PRA is for so we can help each other with our research. If you have info to contribute, consider submitting to the Pennington Pedigrees. If you have some disagreements with some of the data out there, formulate an argument, gather data to support your opinion and write your theory out. You might have noticed that I wrote and article for the last Pennington Pedigree entitled Mistaken Micajahs! This article came out of an ongoing discussion about the many women who reputedly married Micajah Pennington, Jr. Share your ideas with PRA list, Pennington list, and the Pedigrees. There are always lots of new things to discover and data to examine. Hello Carmen: I talked with Gene about joining this group back in January. I make an appliction and sent to Gene and he told me you would be in touch with me around the middle of Feb. I have not had anything on it. I am in group 30. Abram, Andrew, William Calaway,William David, William Chester, Jesse Cole, and then Me. Maggie Artilla PenningtonTaylor-Williams. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Dear Carmen: I would like to be added to My Family.com. Somehow I read your invitation as a "group" thing. As a non-group person, I did not respond. My non-group is that of Timothy, son of Ephraim, who married Mary Trousdale Fullen in Rockbridge Co., VA. I have lots of descendant data but Ephraim is my brick wall. A member of my non-group also married a member of another large non-group, that of Robert, Pryor and Riley Royal Pennington about whom I also have data. The "group" vs "non-group" thing has always bugged me. And others. Susanne Kemp Bartlett, AKA Susie B in MI
Thanks for the offer Jeanne. Hopefully I won't need to bother you but will take you up on it if any questions come up. Sincerely, Burma L. Wilkins
Thanks Pat. I have always wanted to go to the Allen. Might as well combine the two. Between that and my trip to Alaska this year I am in hog heaven (as they would say in the Hoosier state). Alright - don't start - I was born in Paoli, Indiana and live in MO. I don't know why the Metropolitan area of St. Louis likes to use the Hoosier term so blatantly but I Do defend my status as an Indiana Hoosier :> Sincerely, Burma L. Hi Pennington researchers, As a new member of PRA and my first email to the list listing my Pennington connection or rather my husband's, I just have gone through some the John French Master File. I believe that there is a possibility that Jacob Pennington who married Catherine Van Pelt is my Jacob. I have a LYLE book that has several Penningtons in it. I have Abraham married to a Van Pelt because of the LYLE book. A lot of research is needed to be done and for right now it has to be on the internet. I have done on site research in Highland County, Ohio. Anyway if this is true or can be proven it would be Group 3. I believe that previously that I was Group 8 and then started looking at Group 9 because of the Hampshire County, VA. I am sending five generations of my Pennington line. What I have is thanks to many people who have helped me. I would be interested in everyone's opinion on the list. Thank you, Judy Minihan Descendants of Jacob Pennington I Generation No. 1 1. Good Morning, Jeanne, Thanks for letting us know that the renovations will not be completed for quite awhile yet. I am looking forward to the completion. It really is well worth while to research there. I like the fact that when you sign in you can sign the surnames that you are researching. A quick check can be made to see if anyone else is researching your names. That has happened to me. Hi Pat, The temporary location of the Allen Co. Library is really very nice. Most of their large collection is on open shelves like it will be when they move back into their rebuilt site. I think the renovations will be completed in 2-4 years. Our son and his wife moved back to MI last July from Ft. Wayne, IN after living their about 18 months. I visited with them often and we always went to the Allen Co. Library. Looking forward to meeting you. Hi Jeanne and Pat - I am really looking forward to going to the reunion, learning everything possible and meeting all of of you. Speaking of 'silent screaming'. Both libraries here are immune to yelling "Alright- I found them", large gasps of air and pats on the table. I sure hope I don't forget 'where' I am. After finding something, if I get to loud just bring "duct tape" with you on the trip. Hello Jeanne, I am glad that you will be at our Pennington Reunion. The first time I went to the Allen County Library Genealogy Section was back in the early 1970's. Searching for and through the Pennington's I came across the name Januel de Penitone and screamed silently so loud I could have disturbed the whole city of Fort Wayne. Screaming silently is easy to do, especially when the find is terrific. There are very nice motels both down town and at the north end of Fort Wayne to stay at. I have never gone there for just one day. Too much to look and too many ways to do research. I will be happy when they have finished their renovation. At this time I have no idea when it will be completed. Good to hear from you. Hi everyone, The Allen County Public Library is a must for all Pennington researchers. I have researched there for years and usually spend a full week each time and usually find something new each time. This will be my first PRA Reunion too, although my Dad was involved in PRA from the beginning, I was never able to attend the Reunions. I would be happy to help anyone who has questions regarding the Allen Co. Library. See you all in Richmond, IN in August. Jeanne F. Oh, Rene'e, if only we could find such a hypnotist it would be well worth my red face. I only hope no one was offended with my faux paux......Lois Hi Lois, You probably look good in red. ;>) We all make mistakes. The list will understand. Only if the hypnotists could help us with the suggestion "You will find your ggggreat grandmother with no problems". Then we could say that is real progress.Huh? Lois, thanks for sharing this. This prepares us for the possibility of increases at the courthouse. Now our trips to the courthouse won't be such a shock. It looks as if all of us, no matter what we are trying to do will pay for the terrorists activity in some way or another. I am so sorry this came to the list. I have to start wearing my glasses when sending email. This was meant for my cousin and her address is just below this list address in the book. Can you please forgive me? Please delette this from the archieves. I'm so red faced.....Lois "Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."
A woman has had serious headaches for several years and has tried everything been to several doctors and nothing has worked until one day she was having lunch with a friend who referred her to a hypnotist who, according to her friend "works wonders on anything". The woman comes home from the hypnotist and tells her husband,"remember those headaches I have been having all of these years? Well, they are gone". "No more headaches?!?" the husband asks, "What happened?" His wife replies, "Margie referred me to a hypnotist. He told me to stand in front of a mirror, stare at myself and repeat 'I do not have a headache, I DO NOT have a headache. I DO NOT have a headache." Believe it or not, it worked! The headaches are all gone". The husband replies, "Well, that is wonderful." His wife then says, "You know, you haven't been exactly a ball of fire in the bedroom these last several years. Why don't you go see the hypnotist and see if he can do anything for that?" The husband is unsure he wants to do that, but agrees to try it Following his appointment with the hypnotist, the husband comes home, rips off his clothes, picks up his wife and carries her into the bedroom. He rips off her clothes, puts her on the bed and says, "Don't move. I'll be right back." He goes into the bathroom and comes back a few minutes later and jumps on the bed and makes passionate love to his wife like never before. His wife says, "Boy that was wonderful!" The husband says, "Don't move! I will be right back". He goes back into the bathroom comes back a few minutes later for round 2 with his wife--even better than the first time. The wife sits up and her head is spinning. "This is really great!" Her husband again says, "Don't move, I'll be right back." With that he goes back in the bathroom. This time his wife follows and sees him through the open crack in the door standing at the mirror and saying, "She's not my wife. She's not my wife. She's NOT my wife!"
