    2. Nell, The list you posted has much more information than what is listed on this Bible page and that is my direct line to Willis Baker and Mary L. Caudill, my grandparents. This record has some information from 1741 to 1807 and is a partial list. The Bible record spells Micajah as Micaja. Thanks for your help and information. Cousin Ruth

    3. Hi, Ruth, I hope you get this/ I am having trouble receiving email and probably sending out some of it. I hope you are enjoying all of your researching. I really like to find new information. I would appreciate very much, getting a copy of your Bible Record. I am descended from Micajah, Jr. His son James Daniel Pennington and Catherine McIntosh Pennington. I can't find anything our about Catherine except that she was born in Kentucky about 1805, and her father was Scottish. 2. One of our cousins from the Pennington family has a page of the Bible record of some of the Pennington family. She sent me a copy of the page and I can make out most of it, but not all of it. 3. Hi Jennifer, I checked the 1850 -1870 Census for all of Arkansas. There are many William's but the wife's name, Donia won't work. I also looked for Bailey and Manford living close to Wm. and Donia after 1865. The way your query is written, I could not tell if Manford Donia Bailey was her full name, so I just looked for ALL the names. Sorry I couldn't help. A suggestion, if you know what church they were married in, that may give you the parent's names, also you might want to check any burial records, that is helpful also. I noticed in replying to you - you need to be subscribed to the mailing list in order to receive answers to your query. That is why I replied to you AND the PRA mailing list to make sure that you get the information on your family. If you are not a subscriber to the PRA mailing list just yet; send a email to (click here) [email protected] and on the "Subject line" type in: subscribe (nothing else and send it). In this way you will receive mail from any Pennington cousins out there is cyberspace and may find a new cousin. Don't be shy, we are a pretty good gang to learn from ;>) Let us know what else we can help you with. After sending email to the PRA mailing list, a copy of it will also be sent to you. If you send mail to our mailing list and do not get a copy of your email back, let myself or Gene Pennington (webmaster) at [email protected] and together we will help you further. 3. Hi Cheryl, Well, you might want to contact the MD State Archives; sometimes the Mormon Church has newspapers on film - I would look for the Church on film, also; the Baltimore Sun Newspaper is still in business too! You may want to check www.cyndislist.com, she has pretty good, on-line material for MD and it grows everyday, the best part is it's free ! Hey, my shovel is a nub from digging - but I love it anyway. 1. query- Charles Pennington, GA
    2. Rene'e Davis
    3. Hi Gang, I am resending my reply to Elizabeth on the PRA list. My reply was sent before she was subscribed to our mailing list and may not have received the information. Now, she will be able to reply on the list and let us know what else we can help her with. Hi Elizabeth and Welcome to our list.. In the 1930 census, City of Augusta, Richmond County, GA. District 9, Pg. 255-10B Line 68.Your Charles lived on 5th Street with his grandmother ! Bear with me because the copy I have is a poor one. It goes like this: Head of the household is a Sarah Bartles or Bartlett. She is white female age 58. Living with her is a son-in-law, Hibon ? Pennington age 27 yrs.; a daughter -? - Pennington age 24 years, a grandson Charles H. Pennington age 6 years and a granddaughter named Hilda F age 4 yrs. All of these relatives show that their parents were born in GA. Grace Ritter was the daughter of William H. and Jessie Ritter. In 1930, they lived in the City of Baltimore, Baltimore County, MD. Grace had two brothers at that time, Herbert L. and William H. Jr. Ritter. Interesting on the Ritter's. I have a second cousin, Ben Ritter. He has traced back to MD from VA. with his family as I have done with my Penningtons. All of us have to keep in the back of our minds that some of the relationships to the PRA and Pennington Family Groups are linked by other surnames. In Family Group 9, I have two incidents where a direct relative married another family in 1960 and finding out years later, tracing both surnames back to 1730 in Md. the two families are together again. Amazing huh? Anyway, Elizabeth, I hope this has helped you a little. It is made possible by the endless amount of work of the Pennington Research Association's Obituary Database Editor, Margaret Wood. She has compiled over 600 obituaries (and still counting) from the Pennington Pedigrees, Cousins' Courier, newspapers and people from all around. Over the last few years, she has made this information available to all by posting her findings on the RootsWeb Pennington Message board. We have placed those we believe related to Group 4 here for easy access. If you find any listed here that are related to another group just let us know and we will remove it. On the other hand, if you have seen an obituary on the RootsWeb Pennington message board and believe it should be associated with Group 4, send us a link to the message and we will get it added. 3. Elizabeth; I volunteer as a librarian of the day at the Augusta Genealogical Society Library once a month. I'd be glad to look up information for you. Rene'e has already provided you with the census entry. My scheduled day is the third Thursday which will be March 21st. Let me know if you have some specific requests between now and then. The name "Matthew Brooks Pennington" sounds like there might be a connection to the family of Brooks Pennington of Madison, Georgia, the founder of Pennington Feed and Seed. Many of the Penningtons who live in this area are related to that line. I am not, however. Perhaps someone will chime in with the PRA group number for Brooks Pennington's line? 3. Hi Rene: Thank you for the information. I did have the 1850 census, but not the newspaper. Do you know how I can get the Baltimore Sun newspaper page from back then? I just have to find something that says who Ross' parents were. I wonder if the records of the 1st Reformed Church in Baltimore City might have some notation on their parents names from their marriage record. That is the church Ross was married in. Sarah Mumma Penington was baptized in that same church, so her family records should be there back quite a ways. Has anybody looked at the lst Reformed Church records for Penington's? Also, any ideas on church records in Cecil County that I could research for Ross? He must have been baptized somewhere there. There can't have been that many churches in that area.
