    3. Hi, Boy, what a treasure to have a letter from back in that time. This is what I have found on Richard. (you may already have this census info) 1810 - Pendleton Cty. VA Assuming Richard is the head of the house, he shows to be born between 1766 and 1784. In the household - there is 4 w/male children under 10, 1 w/male 10-15 and 1 w/female under 10, 1 w/female 10-15, 1 w/female 16-25, 1 fw/emale 26-44. (no slaves)Source" Roll 252_70, ph. 1104 1820 - Pendleton VA, Richard (same dates of birth) 2 w/males under 10, 2 w/males 10-15, 1 w/male 16-18, 1 w/male 16-25, 2 w/males over 45, 2 w/females under 10, 1 w/female 16-25, 1 w/female 45 or over, 2 in agriculture. (no slaves) Source Roll 33_140. Pg. 37 * Interesting, next to Richard is a Henry Sr. Peninger about the same age. 1830 - Richard shows 1 w/male under 5, 1 w/male under 10, 2 w/males 15-20, 1 w/males 50-60, 1 w/female under 10, 2 w/females under 15, 2 w/female under 30 and 1 w/female under 60. (no slaves) Source: Roll M19_201 Pg. 25, line #2 * Interesting in this census is listed John Pennington and Sampson Penington in the next households. 1840 - Pendleton Cty. Richard 1 w/male under 15, 1 w/male under 20, 1 w/male under 30, 1 w/male under 40, 1 w/male 60-70, 1 w/female under 10, 2 w/female 15-20, 1 w/female 70-80. (no slaves) *Interesting also listed is households of Henry Pennington 40-50; John Penington, 30-40; Precilla Penington with a w/male over 100 yrs. old, the oldest female is 15-20; Sampson Penington is listed 40-50 yrs. The oldest female is 30-40 in the Sampson household. Source: M704_572 Pg. 141 Debbie, does anyone know when or where the marriage took place for Grp. 19, Richard and Eleanor Pritchard? Maybe if we could find that record we could get parents name or possibly an area that they are from. Hope this helps - I'm sure it adds more questions, at least for me... 3. I have had to make a small but important change to my latest report from the DNA Study. This happened because we got some more results back which made it clear that the person we thought was possibly group 26 was probably not from group 26. We got a result back from someone who is quite sure they are group 26 and they do not match anyone yet tested in our study. I have to correct this publicly at this time since that previous match between group 26 and groups 9,19 and 29 is incorrect. In fact that supposed group 26 person is probably just a member of groups 9,19 or 29. It is important that we release this information as soon as we learn about it so that no one spends too much time and money trying to prove that group 26 is related to groups 9,19 and 29. Exciting revelations from the DNA Study are expected in the next couple of months and these will be fully discussed at the PRA reunion in Richmond Indiana Aug. 5-7th. Nick P.

    1. PRA Annual Reunion Meeting
    2. Barbara W Pennington
    3. As I have just completed filling out the Registration Form for the Pennington Research Association, Inc. Annual Meeting & Reunion in Richmond, IN August 5-7, 2004, I am hoping that all of you are getting ready to join us. (There are some deadlines for registration) This national organization has this wonderful opportunity to gather only once a year to greet old friends and meet new ones. Those of us who attend on a regular basis always come home energized about the PRA and about our research of the Pennington families. This is a working, learning, social few days with people of similar goals. We can be very proud of the efforts of our organization (who are all volunteers) in searching and researching. During the past few years your officers have done a good job of continuing the goals of our founder, Bee Holmes. . This is a very special year as we dedicate the Pennington Archives at Earlham College and celebrate the 20 years since we formally became an Association. In the past couple of years we have become incorporated as a 501 (c)3 not for profit entity. The DNA project is outstanding and from it we are learning many new possible connections. We are volunteers working to help each other all over this country, England and Canada. Come join us for three productive and fun days. Visit us at www.penningtonresearch.org for specific information about the Reunion. I look forward to seeing you in Indiana. Barbara W.
