Hi, Thank you for the excuse but I should have caught that. I appreciate the well wishes - I'm doing alright. Yes, I think the numbered family groups are helpful. When we post to the mailing list it helps to stand out and help others looking for a family group to pay closer attention and possibly find their place, perhaps from another surname. It sound like to have done pretty well getting back to abt. 1760. If you can be specific on what you need - all of us on the list can look in their wonderful stacks of 'genie stuff' and let you know. Thanks for posting. It seems that the PRA has a number of members with excellent personalities and here I thought my group was the only one. :>) It' great !! Yea, I believe it is going to be senior. I will try this weekend to find a source for Abraham Jr. But right now he is recorded born abt. 1695 - not nearly old enough. Abraham Sr. was born abt. 1670. Hi Dana, Excuse the delay, feeling under the weather. Yes, Abraham and Mary Elkton Pennington did have your ancestor, daughter Isabella and they do have a Abraham Jr. Although I do not have a source for Abraham Jr. yet. There are Teague's all inter twined in Grp 9. Yea, we are all detectives - ain't it fun !!! You should get the invitation from Carmen in the near future for the Myfamily website. When you do let us know if you have questions. Enjoy the weekend and thanks for posting... I just realized that Abraham had a son named Abraham, too. So the deed could refer to the son. Since there is no mention of parents or spouse, I'm not sure which Abraham it is, though the older seems to be more of a fit since the document is dated May 14, 1714. Yes, the Abraham Penington in the Teague magazine seems to be the one married to Mary, though her name is not mentioned, but the dates fit. Rene'e, Thanks so much for the offered help--I'm sure I will have questions periodically--I always do. I will let you know about the pedigrees. Barbara is just as bewildered as we are about the mail and I made the same comment to her about the pony express :) I did hit a wall for a while but my brother invaded my grandmother's home and "borrowed" documents for me (with my parent's permission, of course). Grandma was recently diagnosed with alzheimer's and my parents did not want the documents lost, so I've become the keeper. They gave me a ton of info, which I'm still sifting through, and right I'm now waiting for some death records so I can solidly verify my Penington ancestors. Again with the snail mail, of course, so it takes a while but it's very exciting everytime a new document comes and I add another piece to the family puzzle! To all Pen(n)ington Cousins: I also got my sticky little hands on 4 Teague magazines. One documents Abraham Penington(my supposed ancestor) receiving 160 acres of land from William Teague (also my ancestor) on May 14, 1714 in Elkton, Cecil Co, MD. Someone was selling these books on the internet and I bought them. They were published by the Teague Family Memorial Assoc. a long time ago--the dates on mine are from July 1968-April 1969. Does anyone know if there were more of these books published? I've found nothing on the internet. If so, does anyone else have any of these books? I would love copies, and I will be happy to scan in the pages that mention Abraham Penington and email them if anyone's interested. Have a great day! Cousin's, I have added some records to the Group 4 - Ephriam Pennington tree. They come from the Pennington Pedigrees article "William Pennington (Joshua, Richard, Ephraim), His Children and Their Children Named" by Rhodley Lewington Alden, B.A., M.S. This research was published in 2003 Pennington Pedigrees, volume 35, number 1, pages 43-48. I spent some time putting the records in on Sunday and was so tired that I forgot to send this heads-up before the auto notice was generated by myFamily.com. I will be adding more from this article over the coming days as I have only made a dent in keying in the information. Enjoy! Arthur Pennington PRA Group 4 Leader Pennington Research Association, Inc. Good to hear from you, Rene'e. We're fine. How about you? Great to be back in PRA! The show sounds interesting so I'll have to tape next Monday's episode and check it out. I can use all the help I can get in genealogy. You know, we still have to get together for lunch sometime. For some reason the mail has problems delivering my things to and from PRA this year. Don't know why. Took almost a month for my check to get there and I haven't received my pedigrees, even though they were mailed over two weeks ago. I imagine that's media mail for you. I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem. I wish all my Pen(n)ington "Cousins" a great day! Hi Rene'e, Thanks for telling us about the program HISTORY DETECTIVES. I read your message too late to see it on Monday. It is shown on Station KT2 here in Central Kentucky. I will try to get it next time. Hey, Rene'e, What is the name of the program? I am interested. Dana (grp 9) In a message dated 6/21/2004 7:22:22 PM US Mountain Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Hi Gang, Hey, our local PBS Network has made a second year of this program. It first aired last year. It is an outstanding program dealing with history, ancestors and the investigation techniques they use to validate family stories. I never missed it and glad to see it return. I learn something new all the time. Thought you might be interested.
