Dear Listers I need help with my researches into Joan GRIFFITHS, born Breconshire in 1831. In 1852 she married Thomas JAMES, born Merthyr Cynog, in 1831. The marriage was in Breconshire. By 1851 they have a five year old daughter Jane, and are living at 13 Rhondda Road, Llanwonno, Glam. In 1865 Thomas married Emma Jane GRIFFITHS, born 1835 at Dixton Newton, Monmouth. (I think it may be coincidence that Thomas's first two wives shared the same surname). Wife Joan and daughter Jane were both born in Breconshire, I wonder where, exactly? By 1851 they have completely disappeared from the scene, did they die, or was there a divorce? I have looked on Free BMD for their deaths,but cannot find them. Obviously I can order the marriage certificate of Joan, and birth certificate of Jane but I only want to do that as a last resort. Regards............................David
