To Powys Listmembers My name is Nancy Lauer, and I live in Ellicott City, Maryland, USA. I am researching my Colley family form Wales. They lived in Aberhafesp, Montgomeryshire, Wales. George Colley married Ursula Whittington, daughter of John Whittington and Ursula Hammer, on November 27, 1799, in Tregynon. George immigrated in 1818 to Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Five of his children accompanied him. Because Ursula didn't immigrate, she may have died. I would appreciate any information on George Colley, his parents, siblings, etc. The same for Ursula Whittington, as well as her death date. The five children who immigrated are George, Charlotta, Ursula, John, and Richard. If George and Ursula had any additional children, I'd appreciate their information. I'd also be interested in information about Aberhafesp and Tregynon and pictures of the churches where my ancestors worshipped. Thank you very much for you assistance. Hi Nancy, The parish registers of Aberhafesp, Tregynon and some neighbouring parishes can be searched online at : http://www.familyhistoryonline.net I see that Ursula Whittington's baptism is recorded there.
