    1. [POWYS] Jones and Price families in Disserth RAD
    2. Dr Shirley Vinall
    3. Dear list, I should be interested in contacting others researching these two families from Disserth (Radnorshire). Ebenezer Jones (c. 1794-1849) a weaver, living at Llyn (or Llwyn?), Disserth in 1841; wife Ann (nee Evans), born Disserth c. 1794; children including Edward (1820-21), Mary (born c. 1820), Martha (born and died 1822), Martha (born c. 1823), Ann (born c. 1826), Edward (born c. 1829), Ebenezer (born c. 1833), Phoebe (born c. 1834). Evan Price (born Llanyre c. 1789), farmer of Red House, Trecoed, Disserth in 1841 and 1851; wife Anne (born Llanyre c. 1800); children including Anne (born c. 1822), Jane (c. 1828), Evan (born c. 1828 or 1831), Alice (born c. 1830), Henry (born c. 1834), Eliza (born c. 1840), Penry (born c. 1842). I believe some later generations of this family had connections with Builth quarries, but as yet have no proof of this. Edward Jones (son of Ebenezer) and Jane/Janet Price (daughter of Evan), my great-great-grandparents, were married at St Mary's, Builth, in 1853, and had two children, Mary Jane (born 1854) and Henry Edward (born 1856). The family lived in Cwmbach and Brecon, and later, after Edward's death and, seemingly, after a second marriage of Jane to an as yet unknown Price, were based in Builth for many years. All information very gratefully received. Many thanks Shirley
