    2. Hello Diana, How interesting that you have Williams in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. I was there last week on some personal quest. However, I also have roots in Llanelli. A marriage ook place in `825 between my 3 times great grandparents, James Driver and Margaret Bassett at St. Elli's Parish Church. Further back on the Bassett line, I found a Vaughan connection. It would be interesting to see whether there are any Williams in the picture as well. I have several books on Llanelli now because I wanted to know more about the place. Part of the reason why I am in the Rhondda, is because my 2xgreat grandfather John Driver, born in 1825 at Llannon, Carmarthenshire, firstly went to Aberdare to get married and then became an innkeeper in Miskin, Mountain Ash. My great grandfather was born in July 1866 at the Bush Inn, Mountain Ash, the baby of the family. His name was William Bassett Driver. A year later, the family moved to Blaenllechau, near Ferndale in the Rhondda Fach, and John Driver and his eldest son were killed in the explosion of 8th November 1867. There were 178 men and boys killed. So, there you are, a little family history thrown in. Best regards, Maureen Rhondda
