Record survival rates for Brecon in the early 1830s do not appear to be good. http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=154 gives background information on assizes as they applied to England, but Wales had its own Great Sessions until 1830 http://www.llgc.org.uk/sesiwn_fawr/index_s.htm.
