Hi Graham and others I also have Mantle's in my ancestry. John Mantle (born 1829/30 Radnorshire) who married Mary (Jones?) (born 1819/20 Montgomeryshire). Their four children (Sarah, Jane, Anna, John) were all born in Bettws-y-Crwyn in Shropshire in the 1860s. I'm descended from Jane who married James Henry Bayliss. John could possibly be a brother of the Mary you mention below ? Does this John Mantle sound familiar to anyone ?
