    3. Dear Listers, I strongly urge you explore the resources available on the British History Online website at: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/ Of immediate interest to me were: - Complete set of 1:10,560-scale (6 inches to 1 mile) Ordnance Survey maps of the UK, published in the second half of the 19th century. - 1:2500-scale (25 inches to 1 mile) Ordnance Survey maps of selected British towns and cities, including Cardiff. Using the right-click menu, the map images can be printed directly from the website or saved to your computer Bearing in mind that the Old-Maps website (www.old-maps.co.uk/) now prevents users copying, printing, or saving its images, the British History Online website looks to be a most valuable alternative resource for family historians. The British History Online website also offers a complete transcription of the 560 pages of Samuel Lewis's 'A Topographical Dictionary of Wales' published in 1849. This work contains detailed topographical accounts of places, parishes and counties in Wales, arranged alphabetically. Registration with the website seems to be optional, and is free. Happy browsing!
