I was just in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Library for a week and 1/2. I searched the Bishops records for the Psrish of Llandewi Brefi for the available years. The parish that I wanted was Bettws Leiki and it was in the Parish of Llandewi Brefi for the early years that I wanted. I was looking for my LLOYD'S of the Bettws Leiki Parish. I didn't find them and I am assuming that they were non-conformists even back then because I found none of their church records except perhaps as a witness to another Lloyd marriage. I will have to send to the UK for the non-conformists records for that time period. I copied information from a book that told which non-conformists were in each parish and where to obtain the records. I did write down all of the LLOYD'S on the Bishops records that I found. I will transcribe my notes and if anyone is interested in Lloyds in the 1700's and into the early 1800's in Llandewi Brefi Parish, I will be glad to see if they are in my notes. I gave up on the place names because the witting was very hard to read in some cases and I am not that familiar with the Welsh place spellings and they were difficult to try to figure out. I made attempts at many of them and could probably go to a Welsh Parish map and figure out what they were. This Lloyd family practiced the naming pattern in Wales so I am going through the 1841 census to find the rest of the WILLIAM LLOYD b. 1806 in Tregaron and his wife MARY THOMAS-LLOYD b. 1806 in Silian, family. The only children they have on the census at this time period is 11 yr. old Rachael (family name) and a 1 yr. old and a 5 month old. So I will look in the close parish's to find young children listed as servants in the 1841 census. I believe that I found our LETITICA LLOYD in the 1851 Betws Leiki as a servant at age 10. The family wasn't in Betws Leiki in the 1841 census. They were in another parish in Llandewi Brefi but until I check my notes, I can't recall what it was. By 1851, WILLIAM LLOYD was farming 6 acres in Betws Leiki. The very interesting thing that I noticed in the Llandewi Brefi Parish is there was a VERY large number of twins, boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl, in this parish at this time. Twins do run in families and if you are from there and have twins running in your family, this is probably the line(s) it runs through. God Bless, Janet in VA, USA Hot and humid here. I still have blurry eyes and a headache from reading the faded old hand writing on the microfilm!!!!! ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
