The majority of burial grounds in Breconshire, Radnorshire & some Montgomeryshire have now been recorded by the Powys Family History Society and are available, some in bookform, all on fiche from the Society Librarians of each County. The burial index for Radnorshire has just been released on CD. Copies are available from Mike MacSorley, - m.macsorley@btopenworld.com Vera Brown Membership Secretary Powys FHS Pauline Lowe <pauline_lowe@btinternet.com> wrote: In the last couple of years when researching my family history I have becaome very aware of the vulnerability of memorial stones through weathering and plant growth which can lead to valuable evidence of our ancestors being lost to us. I know that efforts are being made to record this information but already in some cases it is too late. I have started to copy the inscriptions in the small churchyard in Tirabad and my husband is taking photographs of the headstones. If there is anyone who has a family member buried there but cannot visit in person, we shall be happy to provide you with what information there is. There have been some recent postings on this list regarding Llywel names. >From Tirabad we often take the road over the Eppynt which comes out by Llywel church and we could stop on our way and photograph a headstone of particular interest there. We would do the same for Llangammarch. However I would stress that we would need to know that the person or family was definitely buried at these places. Unfortunately we do not have any Breconshire family burials in our own history but have been very grateful for help given to us by rootsweb list members in other counties in the UK and would like to reciprocate in some way!
