    3. Hi Hilary or Owen, Thank you for the information in your e-mail. The Walter you speak of was my grandfather's cousin as Thomas Maddy (Walter's father) was my grandfather's father's brother. Walter was born at Llanfigan as were all his other brothers and sisters. His cousin William, my great-grandfather went to work in the mining industry in the Rhondda and my grandfather was born in Gelli, but lived most of his life in Mountain Ash, Glamorgan. Thank you for the information. I had suspected that this Walter was the one that went to Sheffield. Best wishes, Susan Welham (nee Maddy) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Hilary or Owen Williams" <williams.o.h@ic24.net> To: "'Powys List'" <powys-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 10, 2007 7:52 PM Subject: [POWYS] Powys: BRE: A Maddy marriage > Hi Listers, > > > > Here is a piece of information for anyone interested in the BRE Maddy > family. > > > > In Sep Q 1885, Walter Maddy married Elizabeth Davies, in Brecknock > Registration District. > > Walter seems to be the Walter found, in 1881 census, aged 19 in the > Cottage, > Llanvigan, Breconshire and living with his widowed father, Thomas and > siblings Evan, Elizabeth, Thomas, Gwen and James. > > > > My interest in the marriage lies with Elizabeth Davies.
