Hi, I'm still looking for clues as to who my ggggandfather was. I know he was a David Williams who married Margaret Probert (c19/10/1776) in Llanspyddid on the 31/12/1797. I can find refs. to him where he is described as coming from "a well known Brecon family" the cousin of Jane Williams' father of Aberpergwm. Much searching on my part has failed to find this particular Williams family. Last Saturday I visited the Brecon FH Fair and thought I had cracked it, but no. Can anyone help? This Margaret Probert was the aughter of John Probert of Cwrt Gilbert and Margaret Jones of Bolgoed, who married in Llanspyddid on the 19/10/1775. Anything would be a great help. Pob Hwyl. Tom.
HI, I'm not sure whether I can be of help but my gt grandmother x 4 was Elizabeth Probert from Llanfilo, Brecon. I believe her father and mother were John Probert and Mary also being married around 1775 but I think they were married at Llanigon, Breconshire. Do you think they are related?
