Dear Listers, Does anyone know if there is any means to access the Michaelchurch-on-Arrow PRs, or transcriptions of them, other than by visiting the Powys or Hereford Record Offices? I have recently determined that my GGG grandfather, James Watkins, was born in Michaelchurch in 1797/8. In 1841 there was a James Watkins living in Michaelchurch, then married to Elizabeth, who was of a suitable age for my James to be his eldest son. Also living with James and Elizabeth was Ann Watkins, widow, possibly James's sister-in-law. It's also possible that my James could be her son (only just - she would have been about 18 when he was born). If anyone knows anything beyond what is in the 1841 and 1851 censuses of James and Elizabeth or Ann and her deceased husband, in particular whether either couple had a son James in 1797/8, I'd very much appreciate advice of it. Back in 2004 Tim Watkin Jones posted an interest in James, Elizabeth and Ann to the list, but I haven't been able to find a current address for Tim. If anyone is in contact with Tim, please advise him of my new found shared interest in them. Tim's posting mentioned that James or Ann had a son Robert born in 1803, which could be significant as my James named his third son Robert in 1840.
