    3. Indeed, and when Heather first posed her question I wondered about that. But when I looked up the CDF uniforms though they all had stitched and embroidered arm insignia telling which branch. Also, there were ARP's etc, but nothing that was "LF" ... indeed, the closest thing to this other than ARP's, just in terms of collar insignia I mean, is the "VR" (Volunteer Reserve" of the RAF. Here's the list of abbreviations used for the various parts of the civil defense.
